TAICO is an organization that provides a framework for building a community of practice around AI and cybersecurity. Our projects are opportunities for learning, collaboration, and innovation in the AI and cybersecurity space. We believe in hands-on experience, practical application of knowledge, and in building and creating real solutions to real problems.

Our Project Philosophy

Our projects follow these key principles:

• Strategic and Tactical Artifacts: We investigate the use of AI and Cybersecurity in a strategic and tactical manner, creating artifacts that can be used by others to learn and apply.
• Building Real Solutions: We build real solutions to real problems, which may include developing open source software to prove out ideas.
• Educational Focus: Every project is a learning opportunity.
• Community Driven: Projects are shaped by community needs and contributions.
• Adaptive: Projects are designed to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
• Ship Fast, Ship Often: Through our maturity model, use the “ship fast, ship often” approach to get ideas out into the world quickly and find out what works and what doesn’t.

How Our Projects Work

Our projects follow a structured lifecycle. At each board meeting, we discuss the status of projects and decide if they are ready to move to the next stage, or if they should stay in the current stage, or be archived.

   • New ideas brought forward by TAICO members
   • Early-stage experimental projects
   • Proof of concept development
   • Community validation of ideas
   • Minimal governance requirements
2. Incubating
   • Active development and community building
   • At least 2 active contributors
   • Regular contributions and updates
   • Establishing project governance
   • Growing user base and documentation
   • A path to strong ecosystem impact and graduated status
3. Graduated
   • Stable projects that meet world class standards
   • Multiple active contributors
   • Strong community adoption
   • Well-defined governance model
   • Sustainable maintenance process
4. Archived
   • Completed or deprecated projects
   • Historical reference maintained
   • May be revived if community interest returns
   • Learning resources preserved

Each project stage has clear criteria for advancement and specific support levels from TAICO.
